ATLANTA, GEORGIA - Ephraim Josef Golcman, 93, widower of Bronia Apelker Golcman, died peacefully at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday afternoon, June 10, 2010, after a long illness.Josef Golcman was born in Riky Poland and immigrated to Savannah, Georgia with his wife and young daughter in 1949 as part of the Jewish community's outreach and sponsorship of several World War II Holocaust Survivor families. Soon after his arrival in Savannah he established a successful business and became an active and respected member of his community. In 1973 he relocated to Atlanta to pursue a career in real estate management which he continued for over 20 years.
He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Bert and Sam Adams, Fran and Myron Kaminsky and Evie and Lewis Weinreich; his grandchildren, Jamieson Adams, Adam and Amy Kaminsky, Ross Kaminsky, Tzvi Weinreich and Dovid Weinreich; his great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Gabriel and Tanner Kaminsky; his sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Charles Bedzow; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Sunday at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, in Savannah.
