Emily Scott Vaquer passed away peacefully in Springfield, Georgia on June 13, 2020 at the age of 100.
Born in South Norfolk, Virginia on January 6, 1920, Emily was the daughter of George Aster Scott and Clara Estelle Ballance. She traveled with her husband and family and enjoyed the opportunity to live in many different cities throughout her life, including San Diego, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Atlanta. Emily moved with her family to Savannah in 1964 and ultimately lived most of her adult life in Savannah and Springfield, GA. She retired from the accounting department at Belk Department Store at Oglethorpe Mall. Emily joins her late husband, Michael Vaquer, Sr., who passed away in 2005.
Emily is survived by her two sons: Michael Vaquer, Jr. (Jean Cathryn McRae), and Mark David Vaquer. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Mary-Elizabeth Elise Vaquer (Sean Farrell), and Drayton LaRoche Vaquer (Kati Shay Vaquer); and the mother of her grandchildren, Leonella Richards Vaquer. She is survived by her great-granddaughter, Leonella Raquel Vaquer, and her step-great-grandson, Kylar Christian Shay.
A private service will be held at a later date.
