Elizabeth Weitz, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017, at Buckingham South.
She was born in Savannah on June, 27, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Isadore Weitz and Lena Cranman Weitz. She is survived by her sister, Mary Weitz Friedman, her nephew, Stephen Friedman and his wife Annette, and their children, Alex and Halle, and her niece, Abby Friedman and her husband, Dr. Harry Heiman and their children, Isaac, Eli, and Aaron.
Elizabeth attended Armstrong Jr. College and trained to be a pilot during World War II. She worked for the Department of Agriculture, The Corps of Engineers, and the Junior League of Savannah where she was a highly valued employee. She was a gifted embroiderer and a member of the Embroiders Guild.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Friday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Motti Locker. Interment will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
