Elizabeth Robinson Hagins

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Elizabeth Elvira Robinson Hagins, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Carl Steve Hagins, Sr., died Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Betty, as she was known by friends and family, was a lifelong resident of Savannah. She and her husband created a small family business together, Hagins Appliance Service Center, which served the Low Country for over 55 years. Ahmama was a true matriarch in every sense of the word. She was always supportive in both success and failure; her devotion to the family knew no bounds. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid knitter, and with her passing, baking from scratch is now an extinct art. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her eldest son Steve and her brother and sister in law, Robert Lee Robinson, Jr. and Mary.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy H. Tillman (Jim); sons, Gary and Larry; an adopted son, Rob Poppell (Marianne); a daughter in law, Delores Hagins; nieces, Phebe Reiser and Angela Grovenstein; a nephew, Robert L. Robinson III; grandchildren, Joy Ramsey (Michael), Alton Goodman (Sheila), Beth Harper (Brett), Steve Hagins, Mark Goodman (Angela), Michael Harper (Samantha), Danielle Hagins, Phebe Hagins (Matt) and Tresha Overstreet (Troy); several great-grandchildren along with great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Revered Dr. Neil C. Stewart. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
