Elizabeth 'Betty' Louise Brown, 76, of Houston, Texas, and formerly of Lady's Island, South Carolina, died Wednesday evening, January 8, 2020, at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Born and raised in Savannah Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George Sargeant Brown and the late Myrtle Shields Brown. Betty attended Mount Saint Agnes College in Baltimore, Maryland. In her thirties she moved to Hilton Head Island and later in life moved to Lady's Island before settling in Houston, Texas. Betty was passionate about gardening and attending to her extensive camellia collection. She was an avid equestrian, and spent time caring for horses and giving riding instructions. She also enjoyed card games, particularly bridge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Sargeant Brown II and Robert Brown.
Survivors include daughter, Dee Dee Martinson and her partner Bill Quick; son, Kevin Heyman and his wife Michelle; grandsons, James Martinson, Avi Heyman, and Eli Heyman.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, January 13, 2020, at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey East, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Dewain Edwin Smith.
