SAVANNAH, GEORGIA -Edna Johnson Loadholt, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of John Lacy Loadholt, died Sunday morning, July 3, 2011, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Willie Sam Brown, Sr. and the late Emma Johnson Brown. She was retired from the Chatham County Board of Education and worked in the cafeteria at Beach High School where she was well known for her cinnamon rolls. Mrs. Loadholt attended St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Willie Mae Graham, Betty Brown, Gloria Brown, Annette Taylor and two brothers, Richard Brown and Joseph Brown.
Surviving are her committed and devoted niece and caretaker, Cindy O'Neal of Savannah, Georgia; one brother, Willie Brown, Jr. and his wife, Gloria of Savannah, Georgia and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in the Chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
