Dr. Mark Garfunkel, 63, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and husband of Esta Schwitzer Garfunkel, died Tuesday morning, May 28, 2013, at his home.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of Eve Darmstadter Goldmann and the late Sylvan A. Garfunkel.
He is survived by his wife, Esta Schwitzer Garfunkel of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; a daughter, Jennifer Franco of Brooklyn, New York; a son, Sylvan Garfunkel of Manhattan, New York; his mother, Eve Goldmann of Savannah, Georgia; a brother, Alan Garfunkel of Scarsdale, New York; a sister, Debbie Popper of Yardley, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
