Dr. Marta Avalos Bosch, 86, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Dr. Miguel Angel Bosch, died Tuesday evening, January 7, 2014, at Spanish Oaks Retreat.
Born in Matanzas, Cuba, she was a daughter of the late Luis Avalos and the late Herminia Perello Avalos. Dr. Bosch was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She retired as a psychiatrist from the Georgia Department of Human Resources after 28 years of service. Dr. Bosch practiced at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia Regional Hospital, and later worked with Tidelands Mental Health in Savannah. She loved her family and also enjoyed painting and photography.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Miguel Angel 'Mike' Bosch and his wife, Sandra, of Augusta, Georgia, and Luis Orlando 'Lou' Bosch of Savannah, Georgia, and three grandchildren, Michael Anthony Bosch and his wife, Angela, Matthew Christopher Bosch and Anna Marie Bosch.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o\'clock Saturday morning at St. James Catholic Church conducted by Father Mark J. Ross.?? Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
