Dr. John Allison Blazer, 88, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Harriett Crevis Blazer, died Sunday morning, May 20, 2018, at his home and with his family by his side and under the care of Islands Hospice.



Born in Davidson, Tennessee, he was a son of the late John Paul Blazer and the late Henrietta Rowland Blazer. Dr. Blazer was an active member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church where he was a Vestryman Emeritus. He was a decorated veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps, the United States Army, and the United States Navy. Dr. Blazer served during World War II and the Korean War. He was twice a Prisoner of War and once during service was Missing in Action. Dr. Blazer was one of 'The Chosin Few' as he served in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. He was a former Commandant of the Marine Corp League. Dr. Blazer was a retired psychologist.



Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Harriett Bragdon Crevis Blazer of Savannah; one daughter, Allison Kristine Blazer of Santa Barbara, California; one grandson, Rafael Blazer Carrillo; one step-daughter, Laura Joanna Daniel Ingram; two step-grandchildren, John Wyatt Ingram and Alaina Kee Ingram; two step-great-grandchildren, Brynlee Renee Thompson and Eden Jo Thompson, and one sister, Thelma Spasov.



The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at St. Andrew's Anglican Church ' 608 Hampton Street.



The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at St. Andrew's Anglican Church conducted by Father Jeffrey L. Baker. Interment, with full military honors, will be at 10 o'clock Thursday morning in Beaufort National Cemetery.
