SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Dorothy Boblasky Hume, beloved wife of Irv Freilich, died peacefully Friday, December 23 in Toronto, Canada after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 6, 1940 in Savannah she was a daughter of the late Philip and Miriam Boblasky. Dorothy was educated in the Chatham County public school system graduating from Savannah High School in 1958, and Emory University in 1962. She began her lifelong teaching career in Savannah, taught several years in Beaufort, SC, 15 years in Atlanta, GA until she moved to Toronto, Canada in 1979 where she taught until her retirement in 2005.
Surviving are her husband Irv Freilich; loving mother to Charles and Karen Rosen and grandmother (Nana) to Stephanie and Philip. Dear sister of Rochelle (Harold) Javetz and Michael (Robin) Boblasky, and sister in-law to Bernice Levine. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by 10 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews; loving stepmother to Marshall (Toddy), Michael (Sharyn), Richard (Michelle) and Jeff (Heather) and devoted grandmother to 10 step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
