Dorothy Bearden Gardner

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Dorothy Freitas Bearden Gardner, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Hilo, Hawaii, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Taxeira Freitas, Jr. and the late Maria Jesus Azavedo Freitas. Dorothy was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She retired from General Finance after 30 years of service and was later with TMD Loans for 15 years. Dorothy was a former member of the Credit Women's Club.
Surviving are her daughter, Angela Todaro of Savannah, Georgia; two grandsons, Brandon Michael Todaro and Justin Daniel Todaro, both of Savannah, Georgia; her sister, Agnes Hunter of Tega Cay, South Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend John R. Tran. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
