TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA - Dorothea Williams Greene Solomon, 77, of Tybee Island, Georgia, widow of Edmund Solomon, died Friday evening, July 3, 2009, at her home on Tybee Island.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Charles John Williams and the late Anna Exley Williams. Dot was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and walking on the beach and always wanted to stay on the island.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda F. Greene and Janice G. Cosnahan and her husband, Harry, all of Hephzibah, Georgia; one son, Charles Gerald "Jerry" Greene and his wife, Arlita, of Augusta, Georgia; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold E. Williams of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Richard J. Williams of Tybee Island, Georgia; her nieces and nephews and her former husband, Charles Greene of Hephzibah, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins. Private interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery - North.
