SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Doris Pade Stacy died on April 14, 2011, at the age of 99.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Los Angeles, California at an early age. She attended Otis Art Institute where she met her future husband. They moved to Savannah in 1936. She is predeceased by her husband, James Howard Stacy.
Doris was an artist and an avid tennis player, playing well into her 80's. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends until a couple of months ago. Mrs. Stacy retired from the Savannah Gas Company. She was an animal lover, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Hugh Stacy (Jenny) of Savannah, Georgia, Carolyn Martin (Al) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jay Stacy (Linda) of Columbus, North Carolina; grandchildren, Janet Stacy, Alan Stacy, John Stacy, Dana Stacy, Stacy Payne and Will Martin, and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to come by 103 Montford Court from 2 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
