We lost an amazing woman on Thursday, September 29, one whose kind nature, great sense of humor, and love of family and friends was evident to her entire community: our mother and Nanny, Doris Ann Kooden Klugman. Our mother used to always say to us at the end of a fun family trip, 'Every good time has to end to make room for the next good time.' And so it is with great sadness but also a profound sense of gratitude that we share her passing. She taught us so much: how to be kind, to always speak truthfully, and the power of a smile with a positive spirit. While she has gone to find the next good time, she hasn't left us completely. Every beat of our heart echoes with her love, her wonderous gift to us all.
Born Oct 9, 1927, she learned from the best ' her parents Jean and Allen Kooden alongside her brother Lewis. She built a beautiful life with her beloved husband Abe Klugman for almost 60 years, filled with family and phenomenal friends. She leaves her legacy to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren:?? Murray Klugman and Joanne Seymour; Sheri and Hal Simon, Zachary Simon of blessed memory, Jarin Simon and Doron Zarur; Danny, Susan, and Matt Klugman, Alli, Jaron, I.J., and Sadie Solomon; David, Susan, Kallie, and Kyle Klugman.
The family extends our gratitude to the devoted, loving caregivers who tended to Mom over the years, most recently Jackie Chisholm, Michelle Chisholm, Lynda Morris, Victoria Young, and Janice Milledge.
Our lives are forever enriched by her wisdom, antics, love, and guidance. We were truly blessed to call her Mom and Nanny. Her memory is a treasure for us all.
The funeral service was held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2022, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
