SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Donnie 'Betty' Tate Garrison, 87, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of William Frank Garrison, died Sunday afternoon, September 23, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur Fitzgerald Tate and the late Donnie Alma Nix Tate. Mrs. Garrison was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where she was very involved the senior's activities. She retired from Derst Baking Company after more than 42 years of service. Mrs. Garrison enjoyed flowers and cooking for her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Robert 'Bob' Garrison, Sr.
Surviving are her daughter, Patty Mobley and her husband, Jimmy, of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Jenny Best and her husband, Steven, Melinda Gale and her husband, Gary, and Bill Garrison; six great-grandchildren, Dylan Gale, Graysen Gale, Madison Best, Mason Best, Devon Garrison and James Garrison, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o\'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Allan W. Bosson. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
