Donna Branaman Fogle, 92, a mother, grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away on July 3rd, 2024 in Savannah, Georgia. She was born on December 10th, 1931 in Bedford, Indiana to Raymond and Eva Helen Mosier Branaman. Donna's early years were marked by the hardships of the Great Depression. Her father's entrepreneurial spirit led him to open the Honey Krust Baking Company in Bowling Green, Kentucky during this difficult time – providing much-needed employment for the community.
Donna received her education at Western Kentucky University's College High before pursuing her passion for nursing and anesthesia. Over the course of four decades, she devoted herself to caring for others within the medical field. From her early days at Bowling Green City Hospital to later serving at both The Medical Center and Greenview Hospitals – Donna's dedication left an indelible mark on those she cared for.
In addition to her professional achievements, Donna found solace in simple pleasures throughout her life. She had a deep love for animals and cherished her feline companion Athena as part of her family. Reading books brought joy into many quiet moments while crossword puzzles challenged her mind with each new day. Music also held a special place in Donna's heart – offering comfort during times of sorrow and celebration during moments of joy.
Donna is survived by her son McDowell Fogle (Gary Shelby) of Savannah GA; daughter Rosemary Fogle of Louisville KY; grandson Benjamin Monroe of Bentonville AR; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by both parents Raymond Branaman and Eva Helen Mosier Branaman as well as siblings Rosemary Branaman and Larry Branaman.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday July 11th at 10:00am at the Episcopal Church of St Paul The Apostle located at 1802 Abercorn Street in Savannah GA followed by burial alongside family members in Kentucky at a later date.
Donna’s legacy lives on through those who survive; may she rest peacefully knowing that she made an enduring impact upon all who knew her.
