SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Donald "Donnie" Robert Williamson, 61, passed away on Saturday August 11, 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, GA.
He was born in Kermit, West Virginia to the late Ray and Beatrice (Crum) Williamson. Donnie grew up in West Virginia but spent most of his life in Savannah. He attended Savannah High School and served in the Army Reserves. Donnie worked at Southern Bell for nearly thirteen years before establishing Spring Tree Landscape Service Co. in 1983. He got his green thumb from his mother, Bea, and loved the outdoors. If you ever found yourself in Donnie's backyard and you had an open ear, he would always have a story to tell.
Donnie is survived by his wife Beverly (Milton) Williamson; his son Shane Williamson (Betsy); his stepdaughter Melanie Turner (Adam); his sister Jeannine Williamson Pitts (Chesley); his brothers Seth Williamson, Pete Williamson, and David Williamson; his granddaughter Ellery Williamson; his grandchildren Kayla and Jacob ; and many beloved family members.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Garden City Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elder Hugh Thompson and Elder Dean Robbins. Interment will be private.
A celebration of Donnie's life will follow the service at 6 Marcy Court, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
