Dixie Lee Pridemore Barbour, 61, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away Sunday morning, March 13, 2022, at her home.
Born in Neosho, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Lewis Houston Pridemore and Barbara L. Brown Pridemore. She served in the Chatham County Sheriff's Department as a Major, retiring after almost thirty years. Dixie won numerous awards and accolades in the course of her work. She participated in the Chatham County Sheriff's Poker Runs as a volunteer in support of the local Boys and Girls Club and various charities. Dixie also enjoyed crafts, especially woodworking, where she would handmake welcome signs, as well as embroidery and sewing. Working for the Chatham County Sheriff's Department was her focus and she truly enjoyed her time there.
Survivors include her children, Joshua Cole, Brandon Cole (Mary), Kristal Cole-Daniels (Chris), Kevin Cole, Jr. (Jessica), Matthew Barbour (Marissa); grandchildren, Bradley, Allyson, Charlee, Isabella, Zachariah, Adalynn, Coralynn, C.J., Aspyn; mother, Barbara L. Brown Pridemore (Gabriel Ramirez); sister, Ophelia Phillips (Randy).
The family will receive friends from 11 until 12 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 12 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, March 16, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service, conducted by Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien. Interment will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens in Beaufort, South Carolina.
