Deron faced her health challenges with unwavering courage. Despite her valiant efforts, her recent struggle with double pneumonia proved insurmountable. Deron, born to Clinton and Leila Moore in Atlanta, GA, 88 years ago, eventually moved with her family to Savannah, where she spent her childhood. Deron cherished her role as a mother and was a second mother to her nephew Skip Stocks, neighborhood friends, nieces and nephews, and numerous others. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their presence.
Mom’s garden was not just a patch of land, but a sanctuary. With dirt on her hands and a smile on her face, she tended to her garden with unwavering passion. She also had a special affinity for the birds that graced her garden. The sight of bluebirds, cardinals, and hummingbirds brought her happiness. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards with friends, Sudoku, and board games with her grandchildren.
