Denson 'Sonny' Breton Foss, 87, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Eva Ann Swain Foss, died Monday morning, July 13, 2020, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Frank Rodney Foss and the late Frances Rockhill Foss. Mr. Foss was a member of Savannah First Seventh-day Adventist Church and retired as an assistant vice president and lending officer for the Savannah Bank and Trust Company (later First Union Bank). He was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory 'Greg' Breton Foss, and two sisters, Carolyn C. Foss and Beverly Foss Reddick.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eva Ann Swain Foss of the home; three daughters, Terry Carol Foss of Brooklet, Georgia, Valerie Foss Ryan, and her husband Chris, of St. Marys, Georgia, and Melanie Foss Mokray of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Hannah Stovall Foss of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Carol Newsom, Connor Maxwell Foss and Jake Christopher Ryan, and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Newsom and Montgomery Newsom.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o\'clock Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with full military honors, will be held at 5 o\'clock Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Joseph M. Wamack. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
