Debra Lynn Roberts Collins, 69, of Savannah, Georgia, and wife of James 'Jim' H. Collins, passed away Wednesday evening, August 31, 2022, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Frankie Roberts. Debra worked for many years as a receptionist. Debbie enjoyed planting and growing flowers in her front & back yard which brought her great joy. Debbie in jest was often called the 'Cat Lady' as she enjoyed her cats & loved them dearly. She was a five year member of the Mended Hearts Association who visited heart procedure patients. Her gift of gab suited her well when she visited hospital patients uplifting their spirits post procedure. To say she was a real 'People Person' is an understatement. Debbie certainly was the type that never met a stranger. Kudos to Debbie for making her husband Jim a much much better man.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Roberts.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, James 'Jim' H. Collins; siblings, Donald 'Don' Roberts (Heidi), Glenda Mullins (Wesley); sister-in-law, Suzy Roberts and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to the Mended Hearts Association Chapter 407/Memorial Hospital or to the local Humane Society.
