Deborah 'Debbie' Simon Safer, 70, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday evening, August 9, 2018, at PruittHealth - Savannah.
Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Lillian Shirley Rubenstein Simon and the late Monroe James 'Jim' Simon. Debbie was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She was a retired school teacher. Debbie was devoted to her family and her friends.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen B. Safer and his wife, Shifra, Adam B. Safer and his wife, Julia, and Joshua S. Safer and his wife, Serenity; five grandchildren, Shai Safer, Esther Safer, Nitzevet Safer, Aviva Safer and Miriam Safer; her mother, Lillian Shirley Rubenstein Simon; one sister, Denise Silverstein and her husband, Stephen; one niece, Dara Silverstein-Cohen and her husband, Jonathan, and one nephew, David Silverstein.
The funeral service was held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
