God called David Walter Woodrum home peacefully Easter morning surrounded by his devoted family in Savannah.
David was born in Reidsville, GA, March 19, 1943, son of the late Walter Wilburn and Mildred Purvis Woodrum of Glennville, GA. Growing up an 'Army Brat', David returned from Germany with his family to Glennville, GA in 1959 where he attended Glennville High School and met his lifelong soul mate, Suzanne Rowland. After marriage, David & Suzanne moved to Asheville, NC and then back to Hinesville/Fort Stewart, GA and then to Atlanta to finish David's Engineering Degree. They permanently moved to Savannah, GA where David continued his passion in Engineering and Construction with Bouy, Hall, and Howard and eventually started his own company, Old Mill Construction, several years later. David and Suzanne are devoted children and servants of our Lord Jesus Christ at White Bluff United Methodist Church where Suzanne continues her musical gifts as organist.
David is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Suzanne Rowland Woodrum, daughter of the late Charlie and Susan Rowland of Glennville; their three daughters, Vicki Rogers (Earl) of Atlanta, Michelle Dunn (Bryant) of Savannah, and Melanie Montford (Chuck) of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters Fran Dubberly (Mike) of Manassas, VA and Polly Camp of Atlanta, GA; their adored 6 grandchildren Zachary, Anna Grace, and Matthew Montford, Madeline, Bryce, and Ross Dunn and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church.
Interment will be at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Glennville City Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
