SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - David Victor Franco, 82, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Sara Israel Franco, died Thursday afternoon, September 6, 2012, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Victor David Franco and Marie DeLeon Franco. Mr. Franco was of the Jewish faith. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. Franco retired as a salesperson for Zep Manufacturing Company. He worked at Augusta National Golf Club during the Masters for more than 40 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Franco Clodfelter.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sara Israel Franco of Savannah, Georgia; one daughter, Deborah Ellen Franco of Athens, Georgia; one son, Stuart Franco of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one son-in-law, David Clodfelter of Centreville, Virginia; four grandchildren, Reina Franco, Kirsten Clodfelter, Samantha Clodfelter and Sydney Clodfelter; and two great-grandchildren, Eden Nevel and Mira Gibson.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Robert W. Haas.
