David L. Blissett, Sr., 81, of Garden City, Georgia, died January 5, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
He was born in Savannah, Georgia, on June 22, 1939, to the late Ottie Flyth Blissett and the late Oliver Lee Blissett. ??He was also preceded in death by his sister Betty Clements and his son-in-law David Tyler, Jr.
David grew up in Savannah, Georgia, graduating from Commercial High in 1957. He owned a landscaping company for over 50 years. He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church. David was a member of Thunderbolt Lodge 693. He was a proud member of the Alee Shriners and served as their Potentate in 2007. His love for the Shrine and its mission of helping children will always be one of his proudest achievements.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Patricia Burnsed Blissett; a sister, LaValda Brooks; his children, David (Joan) Blissett, II, DeeDee (Walter) Williams, and Dania Tyler; his grandchildren, Trey (Tammie) Williams, Tersh (Julie) Blissett, Kristin Williams, Cassidy Blissett, Trisha (Alan) Wilson, Michael Hucks, Alisha (Wes) Silas, Brittany Blissett, and Matthew Tyler. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
