POOLER, GEORGIA - Daniel "Dan" Douglas Mayer, 53, of Pooler, Georgia and husband of Rebecca Lynn White Mayer, died Thursday afternoon, August 2, 2012.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, a son of Paul Mayer and the late Marilyn Mayer. Dan was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Garden City. He was a dedicated machinist for Continental Field System and previously worked with Hobart Manufacturing in Richmond Hill. Dan loved and enjoyed his family and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Rebecca Lynn White Mayer of Pooler, GA; three daughters, Jennifer Mayer of NJ, and Danielle Arnold (Micheal) and Jamie Mayer, all of Pooler, GA; three grandchildren; his father of Hinesville, GA; two sisters, Lynda Reis (Robin) of Marietta, GA, and Karrie Walker (Michael) of Savannah, GA; one brother, Mitchell Mayer of Columbus, OH, and nine nieces and nephews.
Visitation at 10 o'clock Friday morning at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, with the service being held at 11 o'clock in the chapel conducted by The Reverend Richard A. Rushing. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey - West.
