Dana J. Liss

LISS, Dana J. (nee Horton), age 54, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born July 9, 1969 in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Dana graduated from Wright State University in December of 1995 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Dana went on to become a loving and caring nurse for over 20 years, the last few as a nursing instructor.

Dana went on to meet the love of her life, David, and was married in September of 1999. They went on to have a son, Luke, who was born in November of 2001. Dana was such a loving, caring wife and mother and her life truly blossomed. Dana loved rock n’ roll, volunteering for children’s causes, and had a passion for animals. She loved being around friends and family. People who knew Dana were awed by her incredible beauty, energy, and spunk. People will never forget her wild sense of humor and her wit and how she could light up a room.

Dana is survived by her adoring husband, David, and her son, Luke, whom she loved so much, as well as countless friends and family who will remember her always.

Dana is preceded in death by her infant sister, Melinda, and parents, Shirley and Larry Horton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 am. at Gamble Funeral Home, 410 Stephenson Ave, Savannah, GA 31405.

Dana will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 11 o'clock Saturday morning.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Dana.
