SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Dale Rolland Norman, 71, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Helen Marie Parr Norman, entered into eternity Wednesday evening March 30, 2011 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by his wife and family members.
Born May 31, 1939, in Zanesville, Ohio, he was a son of the late George Raymond Norman and the late Helen Claire Gillogly Norman. He had lived in Savannah since 1976. He served 7 ½ years in the military, was employed over 45 years in manufacturing and retired a Senior Tool Engineer, and was an active member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. An avid do-it-yourselfer, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling, helping others, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two infant brothers, and his brother-in-law Darl Billingsley.
He is survived by Helen, his wife of 49 years, his children Stephanie Harrell of Hilliard, Ohio, Craig (Marcela) Norman of Longmont, Colorado, and Teresa (Craig) Foreman of Hilliard, Ohio, his grandchildren Evan Harrell, Maia and Brandon Norman, and Caelan, Connor, and Trystan Foreman, his sisters Claudia Billingsley and Carol Norman-Foltz, his brother-in-law Jack Foltz, in-laws Millard and Virginia Osborn, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Monday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney and The Reverend Jeanette H. Purvis. Interment will be private.
