Dale Rita Lafitte

d. May 16, 2020

Dale Rita Lafitte was born on October 1, 1953 in Savannah, Georgia. Her mother, Dolores Lafitte, raised Dale as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Dale dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on July 14th, 1969.

Dale loved the ministry and started learning sign language in 2000 to help the deaf in her community was some of the sisters in her area and joined the Savannah ASL congregation in 2004. She loved being in field service with the brothers and sisters in her congregation and enjoyed association with many of the deaf brothers and sisters. Eventually she was able to become involved in pioneering and attended the ASL Pioneer School in 2011.

Dale worked for the State of Georgia for 35 years. She had a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture and became an instructor for horticulture therapy to male prisoners. She would teach them landscape designs and how to plant ornamental shrubs and flowers. She retired in 2010 and focused on taking care of her mother and brother until they died.

If anyone knew Dale, right away they would know she loved Jehovah's creation and nature. She loved animals, plants, flowers, and the sound of the ocean. She loved to travel to national parks and botanical gardens around the country.

In 2015 Dale decided to leave Savannah and move to Albany. She spent a short time in the Leesburg ASL congregation until it was too difficult to continue. Up until she died she was part of the Albany Westover congregation.

Due to declining health issues, Dale went to live in the Wynfield Nursing Home and continued living there up until her death on May 15, 2020.

Dale was known for her kindness and generosity. She was modest, humble, and always wanted to help others. She always remained positive and trusted in Jehovah. She cherished the relationship she had with him.

Dale maintained her faith and her integrity up until she died. We know that she looks forward to the time when she will be resurrected and can live forever in the New World.
