SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Curtis Ivey Hall, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Mary Alice Howard Hall, died Friday morning, September 4, 2009, at Azalealand Nursing Home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Effingham County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Ivey Hall and the late Janie Padgett Hall. Mr. Hall was a 50 year member of Isle of Hope Baptist Church where he had perfect attendance on Sunday's for over 43 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. Mr. Hall retired from Critz Buick after 25 years as a body and fender repairman. He loved working in his yard as well as the yards of his church, family and neighbors.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary Alice Howard Hall of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Linda Ayala and her husband, Tommy, and Taryn Montgomery and her husband, Gary, all of Savannah, Georgia; David Hall and his wife, Jackie of Pooler, Georgia, and Danny Hall and his wife, Penny, of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren, David Hall, Jr., Austin Ayala, Corey Hall, Nicholas Ayala, Daniel Hall, Jr. and Allison Hall; one great-granddaughter, Kiley Ayala and he was expecting a great-grandson, Jet, in two weeks; two sisters, Carolyn Ellis and her husband, Glynn, of Valdosta, Georgia, and Reba Wiggins of Guyton, Georgia; two brothers, Alfred Hall of Savannah, Georgia, and Irvin Hall of St. Marys, Georgia, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Hugo S. Hammond and The Reverend William J. Miller, Jr. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - West.
