CPO Kenneth 'Ken' Carl Trout, U. S. Navy (Ret.) ' Our earthly love story has ended with the passing of my sweet husband. Ken died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, December 15, 2016, at Azalealand Nursing Home with his loving wife and step-son at his side.
Ken was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 16, 1934. He attended Howard Community College in D.C. and The University of Maryland graduating with a degree in BioMed Engineering. He joined the United States Navy and served as a Chief Hospital Corpsman from 1952 ' 1972. Ken served two tours in Vietnam. After his retirement from the service he worked for the Civil Service in the medical field for 22 years.
He enjoyed friends, travel, fine dining, golf and dancing, having won several trophies for his dancing skills. Ken was very active in several organizations including the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #183, where he was Past Exalted Ruler, Zerubbabel Lodge, Alee Shrine Temple, American Legion Post #135, the Marine Corps League, Tybee Light Shrine Club, The Society of the Forty and Eight, and the Savannah Volunteer Guards. He was an active member of White Bluff United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Lee Trout, and his parents, Charles and Sara McCullough Trout.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia L. Beasley; two daughters, Patti Faulkner and her husband, Jack, and Tina McQuirns; step-daughter, Anne de la Sierra and her husband, Frank; step-son, William 'Bo' Beasley and his wife, Suzanne; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren, and his sister, Diane Zamblet and her husband, Henry.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment, with full military honors, will be at 4 o'clock Monday in Bonaventure Cemetery.
