Each summer she would retreat to her mountain haven in Lake Junaluska, N. C. She loved hosting annual house parties for her beloved Sunday school class, friends and family. She would return to Savannah, happily exhausted, after the leaves had changed.
An avid cyclist, she took her bicycle on many national and international trips. Her cycling adventures culminated in a 1999 ride from California to Florida. She was 69 and had just finished treatment for lymphoma . All her fellow riders were female cancer survivors who were over the age 50.
For 62 years, she was a devoted member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. She was active in all areas of service. She will long be remembered for the enthusiastic and encouraging nature she brought to everything she did. She practiced perpetual positivity and lived each day with great gusto!
