Constance Joyce Johnson Farrer, 90, of Guyton and formerly of Savannah, died Wednesday evening, August 10, 2022, at the Oaks at Pooler with her son by her side.
Born in Alma, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Olen Vivian Johnson and the late Areadna 'Adna' Amos Johnson. Constance was a former longtime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She earned a Master's degree from the University of Georgia and later earned a degree from Duke University. Though her first love was her family, Constance worked most of her life. She was very accomplished and successful, having owned an insurance agency, was a realtor, managed rental properties, and as a lab technician at Candler Hospital. Constance was a longtime member of the Savannah Area Mensa Chapter. She also enjoyed reading, socializing, being on the water, and traveling abroad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Clifton Sammons.
Survivors include her son, David Ashley Sammons; three grandchildren, Robert 'Robbie' Allen Sammons, Summer Noel Sammons and Amber Lily Sammons Banning; and four great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o\'clock Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o\'clock Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2022, at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey - East, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett.
