SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Connie Holloway Peters, 77, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Christopher Joseph Peters, died Monday evening, August 3, 2009, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Springfield, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late George Holloway and the late Gladys Ferguson Holloway Ketcham and the late Joseph Dave Ketcham. Mrs. Peters was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and sister and was an avid bingo player. In addition to her husband, her father, her mother, and her step-father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Holloway and Jerry Holloway.
Surviving are four daughters, Sheila Johnson and her husband, Gary, of Savannah, Georgia, Cynthia Work and her husband, Dan, of Ontario, New York, Paula Hodges of Savannah, Georgia, and Johnsie Brannen and her husband, Chuck, of Rincon, Georgia; one son, George Peters of Savannah, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, Kristen Geiger, Lauren Brunson and her husband, Patrick, Justin Hodges, Sarah Johnson, Joseph Geiger, Megan Brannen, Chad Hodges, Lacee Horn, Jordan Brannen, Danielle Work, Taylor Brannen, Abbey Brannen, and Hailey Brannen; two great-grandsons, John Patrick Brunson and Peyton Brunson; one sister, Lorelle Lee of Savannah, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; her extended family member, Michael Platock of Jacksonville, Florida, and her cherished pets, Maggie, Casey and Tigger.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rosary service being held at 6 o'clock.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien and The Reverend Mariusz Fuks. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
