Clothiele 'Teal' Davis Phelps, 91, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of Vernon Gordon Phelps, died Monday morning, August 15, 2022, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Louisiana, Teal received her Master's Degree in Education and retired from the Clayton County School District. She was adept at teaching reading to special-needs children. Teal believed everyone should be able to read and made sure each of her students received personal attention. She was also a talented seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for her children. Teal loved animals and would spoil her dogs. A very generous lady, she would do anything to help her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Steven 'Steve' Gordon Phelps and daughter-in-law, Shirley Kelly; great-grandson, Steven Gordon Phelps III.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
