Claude Alfred Schunemann, 95, of Richmond, Virginia and widower of Sophie Schunemann, died Monday afternoon, April 24, 2017, at Lexington Court in Richmond.
Born in Savannah, Georgia on October 3, 1921, he was a son of the late Rosamond Augusta Mensing and the late Henry Fred John Schunemann. Claude served in the United States Army as a medical technician during World War II. He was a painter, metal worker and a produce manager.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edna, Winnie, Carl, and Henry Fred Joseph Schunemann.
Surviving are one sister, Sophie S. Wilson; four nieces and nephews, John J. Wilson and his wife, Marche, Ann W. Nelsen, Marche\' W. Mahanes and her husband, Robert, and Gene Schunemann and his wife, Alice, and his cousins, Inez, Albert, and Robert Schunemann.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday, May 5, 2017, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery.
