Clara Bosso Fodor

d. August 14, 2015

Clara Bosso Fodor, of Savannah, died at Buckingham South on Friday, August 14, 2015. She was born in Naples, Italy, September 13, 1928. Clara met her husband, the late Lester G. Fodor, on a blind date while he was in Italy in service. They soon were married and she came to Savanah as a war bride. She was a loving wife to her husband and devoted mother to her two extraordinary sons, Gary Fodor and Mark Fodor, who also predeceased her.

Clara Fodor was a valued employee of Friedman\'s Art Store for over thirty years. During that time Clara made many friends who visited her frequently with their artwork or just to say hello. Clara was often accompanied by her son Mark who was a very special person. Mark was often referred to as the \"Mayor\" of the Medical Arts Shopping Center and Clara always had a smile on her face when Mark was with her. During the holiday season the counter was crowded with gifts and flowers from Clara\'s many friends. She and Mark were invited to many holiday parties. Although Clara usually declined, Mark was always booked up for weeks in advance. She was a mentor to the young people who worked with her and like a second mother to many. She will be missed.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Pauline Fox, of Venice, Florida, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family would like to thank Mrs. Rita Slatus and the staff of Buckingham South for the excellent care they provided her over the past three years.

The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.

Memorial gifts may be made to Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob ' 5444 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31405 or to the Gary Fodor Scholarship Fund at Armstrong State University - 11935 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31419.
