Chu Ming Wu, 79, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Maeyu Chao Wu, died Tuesday evening, March 5, 2019, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Henan China, he was a son of the late Reverend Hua Ching Wu and the late Fong Sun Yuan Wu. Mr. Wu was a member of the Chinese Baptist Church of Savannah. He was the former owner and operator of Hunan Chinese Restaurant on Wilmington Island.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Chu-Ing Wu.
Surviving are his wife of more than 50 years, Maeyu Chao Wu; one daughter, Feiwn-April Wu and her husband, Xuewen Tang; one son, Dahchin 'DC' Wu and his wife, Melanie Wilkes Wu; four grandchildren, Micah Tang, Lillian Tang, Leah Wu and Jacob Wu; two sisters, Zih-Mei Amann and Zieh-Fang Betty Wu; two brothers, the Reverend Jih-Der Job Wu and his wife, Chen Shou-Chuang Wu, and the Reverend David Jih Young Wu and his wife, Rebecca Chia Shin Wu, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening, March 15, 2019, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, March 16, 2019, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Joseph K. Wong and the Reverend David Jih Young Wu. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
