Christopher 'Chris' Michael Clark, 22, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday morning, March 30, 2019, near Hardeeville, South Carolina as the result of an automobile accident.
He was born in Thornton, Colorado to Jennifer Quarterman.
As Chris navigated his transition into a young man, he held tight to the family motto 'ohana'. Several family members received tattoos so even at low times we could know that we are not alone. He loved his family and every single sibling. Chris loved being by family that he had in all corners of this country, and had discussed becoming a truck driver so he could be closer to all of us.
We can hope to find comfort that Chris is fulfilling his desire to be around us all.
Chris died in a drinking and driving accident. That decision took Chris and changed lives far beyond what anyone could have imagined. We pray that if you love Chris you will let his name be the reason you vow not to drink and drive, or ride with anyone who is intoxicated. Let his name be why you strive to do good and peaceful things.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca, whom he is joining in heaven.
Survivors include his mother, Jennifer Quarterman; grandparents, Albert and Vicky Clark; uncle Rick Clark (Meranda); stepfather Irvin Quarterman; father Noah Mendoza (Gene); siblings Matthew, Angelina, Irvin, Teasha, Sylathia, Lakeasha, Joshua, Leon, and Andrew; cousin Brian; Bonnie Sherlin and the Cross family; his work family at Vic's on the River and many more friends, family, and friends that became family.
Chris was put to rest by his mother, Jennifer Quarterman.
His funeral service was held at 3 o\'clock Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2019, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment was private.
