Christopher 'Chris' Arnold Clark, 62, formerly of Rincon, Georgia, died Monday evening, February 10, 2014, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a son of Gilda Jean Buckley Clark and the late Jack Arnold Clark. Chris was of the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Hoover High School in Des Moines. He and his family built 54 nursing homes in Iowa, Missouri and Florida. Chris was a founder and former owner of the Savannah and Brunswick Harley Davidson dealerships and the Harley Davidson Store on River Street in Savannah. He was a former owner of Spider Aviation which imported L-39 jets from Czechoslovakia. Chris was the Formula Atlantic Rookie of the Year and point leader at the Lime Rock Track in Lakeville, Connecticut. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved driving race cars, boats and flying jets in air shows. Chris also loved riding horses in shows and raising and breeding cutting horses.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marty Blake 'M. C.' Clark.
Surviving are four children, Michael Clark and his wife, Stella, of Phoenix, Arizona, Chelsie Clark of Bluffton, South Carolina, Maxie Clark of North Branch, Minnesota, and Jack Austin Clark of Aiken, South Carolina; his mother, Gilda Jean Buckley Clark of Mitchellville, Iowa; one sister, Deborah Clark and her significant other, Mary, of Omaha, Nebraska; one grandson, Christopher Starr; one niece, London Clark Adams; his former wives, Linda Clark and Judy Clark, and his girlfriend, Wendy Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett. Interment will be private.
