Christine Ansley Brabham Waters, 89, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016, at her home.



Born in Claxton, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Elum Faris Ansley and the late Anna Benita Waters Ansley. Mrs. Waters was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church (now Higher Ground Baptist Church). She graduated from Nevils High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Waters worked for Sears and Belk in Savannah before moving to Statesboro. She retired from Belk in Statesboro as a cosmetic consultant, where she enjoyed advising ladies on Estee Lauder. She loved spending time with her family and also spent 4 hours every day reading the Savannah Morning News.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six sisters and brothers, Elum Ansley, Otis Ansley, Talmadge Ansley, Elizabeth Lightsey, Juanita Aldrich and Darthy DeLoach, and spouses, Rufus D. Brabham and Dennis A. Waters.



Survivors include two daughters, Linda MacMillan (Danny) of Savannah, Georgia, and Joan Brabham (Anita Hester) of Lilburn, Georgia; one step-daughter, Floried Brabham White of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two grandchildren, Marnie MacMillan Warren (Chris) and Mark MacMillan; two great-grandchildren who were the light of her life, Maris and Megan 'Magpie' Warren, and her nieces and nephews, including Marjorie Aldrich Pope, who was her niece, a special companion, and caregiver.



The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning at Higher Ground Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Dr. Andy Vaught. Interment will be at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Harville Baptist Church Cemetery ' 90 Harville Church Road near Brooklet.
