Charles 'Charlie' Alexander Jacobson Teeple, Jr., 80, of Thunderbolt, Georgia and widower of Nell Mallard Teeple, died Wednesday evening, March 11, 2015, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Charles Alexander Jacobson Teeple, Sr. and the late Mildred Lucile Elmgren Teeple. Charlie was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a lifelong resident of Thunderbolt. He graduated from Savannah High School and attended the University of Georgia Law School. Although Charlie was diagnosed with polio at the age of 2, he was very active in business in Thunderbolt and Savannah. He formerly owned and operated Teeple's Seafood Restaurant and Charles Teeple Sea Products. Charlie was a founder of the Thunderbolt Fishing Club.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Ann Teeple, his parents, and his sister, Mildred Teeple Hill.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki H. Coolidge and her husband, Fred, of Brunswick, Georgia, and Terri H. Eubanks of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Charles Alexander Jacobson Teeple III of Thunderbolt, Georgia; one brother, Ronald E. Teeple and his wife, Shirley, of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren, Rick Coolidge, Carl Coolidge, Alayna Teeple, Brianna Teeple, Jacob Teeple and Calhoun Eubanks, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o\'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o\'clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Allison R. Ward, Diaconal Minister. Private interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
