On Friday, December 23, 2016, Charles Lindy Brown, Sr. arrived in his Heavenly home that he had been longing for.
Born in Candler County, Georgia, he was a son of the late J. B. Brown and the late Ruby Riggs Brown. Lindy was a member of Hope Baptist Church. He was a 1956 graduate of Commercial High School. Lindy retired from ADT after 32 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Jean Kitchens Brown, who was the love of his life; two sons of whom he was so proud, Charles 'Chuck' Lindy Brown, Jr. and his wife, Jill, and David Benjamin Brown and his wife, Melanie. Jill and Melanie were like daughters to Lindy. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Ashley Carter, Chad Brown, Kayla Brown Davis and her husband, Cody, Molly Carter, Ben Brown, Benjamin Jacques-Ruarks and Rachael Brown; his sister Libby Findley; his sister-in-law, Linda Hall and her husband, Howard, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. John R. Tramell, Jr. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
