BLUFFTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - Charles Lawrence "Larry" Bolton, 70, of Bluffton, South Carolina died Sunday morning, July 22, 2012, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. He was known to most as "BUBBA", always with a smile on his face and a friend to everyone he met.
Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late Lawrence Oliver Bolton, Jr. and the late Dorothy Mouser Bowersox. He was a United States Air Force veteran having served as a "Hurricane Hunter" with the 53rd Weather Squadron. It was during his service to his country while stationed in Savannah, when he met his wife, Marian Dent. Larry was formerly a Director for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia, a Vice President of Chrysler Corporation - Chrysler Pentastar Aviation in Detroit, Michigan and a Managing Director of Metro Business Aviation in London, England. Larry was an avid golfer. He had recently moved to Bluffton from Savannah and was currently residing and a member of Belfair Plantation Golf Club, and formerly a member of the Landings Club.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marian Dent Bolton, and one daughter, Lorry Sue Bolton, both of Bluffton, South Carolina. He was also survived by close family members, Stephen White and Linda Shellhamer.
The family will receive friends at their home in Belfair Plantation in Bluffton, South Carolina from 4 until 6 o'clock on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
The funeral service will be private.
