Chadwick Darrell Mills

Chadwick "Chad" Darrell Mills, 50, passed away on January 11, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones after a hard fought seven year battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, coach, and mentor.

He served the community of Chatham County by coaching baseball for the past twenty one years. Chad coached and mentored over a thousand kids sharing his love and passion for the game. Now he's in Heaven and has all of the angels practicing baseball. He was an upholsterer for over thirty years and spent the last twenty four years of his career at Taylor Upholstering Co. He was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game.

Chad was born in Whiteville, North Carolina. He was preceded to heaven by his brother, Kris Mills. He is survived by his loving wife Laurie Mills, his son Caleb Mills and daughter-in-law Faith Ayala-Mills, his son Jacob Mills, Father Horace Mills, Mother Wilma Kay, Step-Father Ian Kay, brothers Kelly Mills and Garrett Kay, and sister Sabrina Kay.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 o'clock - thru 1 o'clock at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah. Funeral services will follow at 1 o'c;lock in the funeral home chapel. Reverend Gene Garrison will officiate.

Interment will be in Greenwich Cemetery, Savannah.
