Catherine Elizabeth Gleghorn Sacaloff, 76, of Pembroke, Georgia and wife of Harold Sacaloff, died Thursday evening, December 19, 2019, at her home.
Catherine was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She moved to the United States and lived in New York, prior to starting her family and living in Jersey City and Red Bank, New Jersey. Catherine held several retail managerial positions in her lifetime, but her greatest position was being a mother. Catherine was a proud Scots woman, and a proud Geordie with close family in County Durham, England. She held her family close and was loved by everybody whose life she came into; her mother would share that she 'opened her home to many, all the waifs and strays'. Catherine loved celebrating holidays with her family, listening to music, and dancing. She retired to Pembroke, Georgia later in her life.
Catherine is predeceased by her dear parents, Thomas and Catherine Gleghorn, and her newborn daughter Jennifer Staci.
She leaves behind a loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Harold Sacaloff and their five cherished children: Debra Potenzone and her husband, Paul, of Midway, Georgia and their three sons and seven grandchildren, Laura Robertson and her husband, Craig, of Pembroke, Georgia, Mark Sacaloff of Waretown, New Jersey, Paul Sacaloff of Dallas, Texas, and Rebecca Morgans of Union Beach, New Jersey. Catherine also leaves behind her sister, Denise McCallum and her husband, John, and daughter, Caelin, of Lacey Township, New Jersey; a brother, Thomas Gleghorn and his wife Christeen, of Barnegat, New Jersey and their four children. Fur baby, Bootsie, is also left behind by Catherine, who gave her many years of love and feline companionship.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, December 23, 2019, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia, conducted by Rabbi Steven B. Henkin.
