Carolyn Peloquin, 82, of Savannah, GA, passed peacefully to heaven on the morning of October 12, 2023.
Born October 16 t, 1941, in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lucille Kirby. The youngest of their four children, she was preceded in death by her siblings J D Kirby and Loretta Wells, and is survived by her beloved sister Faye Whitton. A lifelong Savannah resident, she grew up with Forsyth Park as her playground. She was an active member of the Wilmington Island Baptist Church throughout her 82 years, also serving as their secretary. She worked as an administrator at Chatham County Correctional Facility and in retirement enjoyed traveling with friends and taking in the sights and sounds of the port of her native city. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. Carolyn also treasured her lifelong friendship with Joyce Thomas and Irma Glover.
Carolyn was married on July 27 t, 1959th to Robert Louis Peloquin of Riverside, California. The couple raised and are survived by three daughters: Desiree Taylor, wife of Ricky Taylor of Savannah, Georgia, Renee Adams, wife of Crawford Adams of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Heather Peloquin, wife of Jim Battles of Savannah Georgia.
Also surviving her are her seven grandchildren: Justin Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Wesley and Amy Taylor of Stillson, GA, Nathaniel Joyner of Olympia, Washington, Jeremy Joyner of Louisiana; Chelsea and Shawn Milligan of Richmond Hill, GA; Amber and Jacob Mock of California, and three great-grandchildren: Harrison Milligan, Noah Mock, and Tyde Starling.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at 12:00 o’clock at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 o’clock at the funeral home. Reverend Columbus Burns presiding. Interment will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Statesboro.
