SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Caroline Thomas Pruitt, 91, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Francis "Frank" Harold Pruitt, died Wednesday morning, September 29, 2010, at her home under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Charles N. Thomas and the late Viola Brunson Thomas. Mrs. Pruitt was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a homemaker. She and her husband Frank were formerly with DesBoullions Jewelers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles N. Thomas, Jr., Joseph B. Thomas and Richard B. Thomas.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail P. Baxley and her husband, Bruce, and Claire P. Hodges and her husband, Don, all of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Thomas M. Pruitt of Panama City, Florida; six grandchildren, Caroline B. Kirschner and her husband, Jeff, Linda B. Moore and her husband, James, Bruce Baxley, Jr. and his wife, Andrea, April H. Little and her husband, David, Amy H. Claxton and her husband, Michael, and Greg L. Hodges and his wife, Sheila, and her sister-in-law, Margaret Herring of Nampa, Idaho.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Friday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Dr. Allan W. Bosson.
