Carol Horne Wright, 64, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Robert Asbill Wright, died Thursday evening, October 18, 2012, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Davison Horne and the late Elizabeth 'Bet' Eve Horne Cooper. Carol was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church. She retired after 32 years of service as a school counselor. The majority of her professional career was for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School Sy at??Bartlett Middle School and later at Hesse Elementary School. She enjoyed skydiving and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Carol was a devout Catholic who loved her family and friends but always remembered to put faith in God above all.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Robert Asbill Wright of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Robert Fletcher Wright and his wife, Crystal of Lafayette, Alabama, and John David Wright, a seminary student at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary Boynton, Beach, Florida; one daughter, Elizabeth Asbill Wright of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Robert 'Rob' Wright, Nathan Wright, Christopher Wright and Caroline Wright; one sister, Eve Goodwin and her husband, Malcolm, of O'Fallon, Illinois, and Richard 'Dick' Horne and his wife, Anne, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Monday morning at St. James Catholic Church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning in St. James Catholic Church conducted by Father Mark Ross. Interment will be at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in St. Peter's Catholic Church Historic Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
