Carol Waldman Minkovitz, 67, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday morning, May 10, 2018, at her home.
Carol was the daughter of the late Edward Israel Waldman and the late Doris Greenberg Waldman, and was born and raised in Savannah. Carol was an avid reader and acquirer of knowledge. She earned two Master's degrees in Education and later retired as a School Counselor for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, where she found fulfillment helping young people in need. She had a special place in her heart for those who were bullied and affected many lives over the years.
Anyone who knew Carol knew the abundance of her kindness, the generosity of caring she had for everyone around her, her indomitable spirit and the grace with which she lived her life.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Hugh Minkovitz; three children, Evan Minkovitz Jacobs, Michael Minkovitz and Jessica Minkovitz; three grandchildren, Jonah, Eli and Samantha Jacobs, and two sisters, Jeri Yates and Judy Klein, and her two dogs, Buddy and Augie.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
Carol fought valiantly for years battling Erdheim-Chester Disease and would request any remembrances continue her fight and be sent to Erdheim-Chester Disease Global Alliance ' Post Office Box 775, DeRidder, Louisiana 70634.
